METTLER TOLEDO recently introduced two new scale terminals to its product portfolio. The IND400 and the IND700 terminals are the next generation terminals supporting a host of new features, including color touch screens with easy navigation, data integrity with audit-ready data, additional connectivity options, and a host of applications that can be easily added if your scale needs change.
IND400
The IND400 scale terminal will eventually replace the ICS4_9 scale terminals. Currently, it replaces all the IND4_9 terminals with AC power. If you need a unit with an internal battery or a metal keypad, please continue to look at the ICS4_9 product line. Battery support and the metal keypad will be made available for the IND400 in the coming future.
The IND400 now includes the following new features:
- Support for analog, Powercell, and Powerdeck load cells
- 5” rough environment color touch screen – like today’s Smartphones
- SMART5 messaging
- Data Integrity that meets ALCOAA++ standards
- Weighing applications include basic weighing, counting, Over/under checkweighing, Animal weighing, Manual filling, Totalizing, Data integrity
- A variety of options including Discrete I/O, RS232, USB OTG, Ethernet TCP/IP, Wi-Fi 4, 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz

IND700
The IND700 is part of a new generation of indicators for interactive and semi-automatic applications. Its new interactive graphical interfaces make it easy to read values immediately, navigate menus quickly, and execute tasks efficiently – even for new employees. At 7 inches, it provides a bigger, clearer screen for better operational guidance, manufacturing process visibility, and operational efficiency.
If data integrity is important for your organization, note that the IND700 is audit ready. It has track-and-trace capabilities allowing advanced manufacturing reporting. It stores up to 1,500,000 transactions which are easily exported to standard file formats like CSV or XML.
This new terminal is available in two different enclosure versions that are IP69 rated. The harsh version is designed for hoppers, tanks, silos, floor platforms, and truck scales. The larger housing supports PLC interface options and allows the installation of multi-conductor cables for I/O control. The Wedge version is ideal for bench and floor applications where the terminal is mounted on a bench, a column, a floor stand, or simply placed on the table. This version does not support PLC interface cards.
With ProWorks Multi-Tools, ready-to-use embedded applications are available to streamline your manufacturing process and increase efficiency. If you want to further tailor the system to your exact workflow requirements, ProWorks Studio allows you to leverage the application library and customize applications in Microsoft Visual Studio.NET.
